Team Development

TRA has a long track record of advising local authorities in all aspects of management, organisation and procedures. Clients include authorities throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

For many years TRA has specialised in developing team-working methods in local authorities at various levels. Our approach is adaptable, according to the type of organisation and its particular requirements. An assignment could involve a facilitated workshop, team training and development sessions, a consultancy service, or any combination of these approaches. A consultancy service may involve a review of a team, or a number of teams, to examine how they work and interact and to make recommendations for improvements.

Whatever the approach, our objective is always to examine how organisations and teams behave and interact and explore ways to improve team working and, ultimately, to improve the morale and productiveness of team personnel and enable better quality service provision. Assignments may include improvements to team relationships and working practices, improving communications and the sharing of information, developing new procedures or improving existing procedures, working to shared objectives, and improving customer and stakeholder relationships.Types of organisations and teams who have benefited from this approach include:

Each assignment is different but they typically last between one and three days and there is sometimes a need for follow-up work. The optimum number of participants for any training sessions included is between 15 and 20, with 20 being the normal maximum. As each assignment is different we would normally suggest a meeting to discuss your brief and then design an approach according to your specific requirements using our experience from previous assignments.
