Environmental Policy Statement
Trevor Roberts Associates (TRA) is aware that we have a responsibility in the way we manage our work to protect and enhance the environment. We are fully committed to preserving the natural environment; to reducing or eliminating any negative impacts our actions may have; and to controlling and avoiding pollution.
By identifying any significant impacts we have on the environment and through modifying how we operate we will ensure that these impacts are reduced to a minimum through a process of continuous improvement. This Policy will be used to improve awareness within the organisation and among those who work with TRA.
As well as direct effects on the environment arising from our facilities and practices, we recognise that we can influence procedures and policies through the advice and services which we provide to clients.
For both our company practices and the advice which we give to clients we will comply with all applicable local, national and international environmental legislation and regulations. We will keep copies of the principal items of legislation and guidance and make them available to staff and others as appropriate.
We will improve our environmental performance in company practice by:
- taking account of environmental and sustainability considerations in areas such as building energy management, waste minimisation and the purchase of consumables insofar as they are under our direct control
- applying policies on travel in ways which encourage both economic and environmental efficiency.
We will positively influence the environmental performance of commissions which we are engaged on by:
- respecting our clients’ environmental management policies, practices and systems
- encouraging clients to adopt solutions with high environmental performance in line with our own standards
- encouraging our suppliers and those we employ to maintain high levels of environmental performance in the context of supplies we receive / work which they undertake for us
- ensuring that our staff are properly trained to carry out their statutory responsibilities and to influence environmental performance positively; and
- seeking (where we provide advice and recommendations) to integrate environmental and sustainability considerations and positive impacts into all commissions and business practices.
We will establish a framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets. This policy will be reviewed by our management team periodically, and either re-adopted or revised so that it remains appropriate to the scale and nature of the business. It will be published and maintained electronically on our website and within our procedures and practices manual and will be displayed at our office.
All personnel are required to comply with the requirements of this policy, are encouraged to work positively towards its implementation and to continually improve our environmental performance.
