Services for Local Government
Since our establishment in 1984, TRA has been providing training and consultancy support services for local government.
In the early days, we worked with a wide range of departments and functions across local government. Over the last 15 years or so, we have concentrated largely on the planning and development fields, where we have become market leaders in the provision of practitioner-presented training.
More recently, however, we have begun to expand our services once again to suit the needs of the wider local government arena.
Training
We provide training in a number of specialised topic areas, of interest to those working in particular departments/functions, including training in relation to arboriculture, via the now well-established programme of workshops organised on behalf of the National Association of Tree Officers (NATO).
We offer a wide ranging package of training in relation to urban design, which is suitable for staff from a number of disciplines and includes in-house training and an annual conference.
We also provide management training and development which is appropriate for those working in local authority planning, development and regeneration services.
Consultancy Support
TRA has extensive experience of working with local authorities and advising them on all aspects of management, structure, organisation and efficiency improvements.
We are able to provide a bespoke service tailored to the needs of individual authorities/departments. We work closely with clients in order to investigate and resolve management and organisational issues, make recommendations for improvements and, where necessary, provide support during the process of implementing organisational changes or modifying working procedures/practices.
