Dealing with Planning Applications for National and Major Developments

As a result of recent legislative changes there are new requirements for pre-determination hearings and decisions by full Council for major developments, which are significantly contrary to the development plan and for national developments.  This will mean the potential involvement in planning decisions of all Council Members.

Circular 4/2009 Development Management Procedures recommends that “members should receive the necessary training and advice to enable them to discharge their new functions”.  To assist with these changes we have developed a one-day workshop appropriate for all Council members, but particularly those who have little or no previous experience of planning issues.
