Supervision and motivation
This workshop is aimed at the professional officer, of any discipline, who wishes to develop their staff supervision skills. It is especially useful to people who have recently been promoted into supervisory positions, or who are being considered for such promotion. The workshop aims to clarify and demystify what is meant by supervisory management. It is concerned with the concepts and techniques of staff supervision and motivation and takes a highly practical approach to what is involved in leading successful teams using theoretical concepts to support the practical approach.
It is a highly practical workshop which equips participants with the key skills of supervision, including such things as:
- the work/people balance
- handling staff whose work is unfamiliar (or very familiar)
- communication and delegation
- challenging and developing staff
- handling staff relationship difficulties in an informed, systematic manner (a particular feature of the workshop).
