Managing change
The planning, development and regeneration functions of local authorities continue to experience changes in order to cope with the pressures of a complex and changing world. Changes may involve re-structuring of teams and departments; changes in working practices; delivering performance improvements; efficiency savings etc; or establishing joint services with other local authorities.
Change can have adverse effects on staff motivation and cause a drop in performance, sometimes over a significant length of time. Organisational change is common place and wide ranging but in many cases managers are not trained in change management and are ill-equipped to manage change successfully. This workshop provides a clear understanding of the change management components and process, focusing on practical ways in which managers can prepare for and implement change effectively.
