This module aims to develop detailed knowledge and skills associated with the specific functions of planning support. In particular, it will look at different approaches and what might be regarded as best practice with regard to the role and functions of support staff. It covers:

- application forms - validating an application - application fees - Consultation, Notifications and Publicity
- pre-application advice - General Procedure Order - neighbour notifications - Supporting the Local Development Framework
- research - analysis and forecasting techniques - community involvement.
