Briefings on Planning for other Local Government Staff
For many years TRA has specialised in providing training for those involved or interested in the planning process. This has included a number of sessions explaining the 'mysteries of the planning system' to people who may interact with it but who are not planners themselves.
Due to the increasing requirement for staff to be 'multi-skilled' TRA has developed a briefing on planning for those who have limited or no experience in the town planning process, but who need to have a basic understanding of the system.
Our one-day workshop helps to demystify the planning process, giving participants an insight into how the system operates which in turn will enable them to work effectively alongside their colleagues and customers alike.
Specific aspects covered include:
- What is Town Planning?
- Who is involved in the process and how they relate to one another?
- What is Development Management?
- Making Development Plans
- What happens to planning applications, and what information is required?
- Enforcement
- Appeals
- Links with other officers
Please note that we are happy to tailor specific sessions in order to meet with the client's individual needs. Alternatively we can develop bespoke sessions (although this may incur an additional charge). For more information, including an outline programme, please contact Angela Holmes without obligation.
