Training Programmes
Training for Planning and Development Practitioners 2008 (Scotland)
We have a well established programme of training workshops specifically for planning and development staff in Scotland. These are for limited numbers of participants (maximum of 20) under the direction of one (or in some cases two) of our team of presenters. Workshops are participatory, involving discussion, exercises, and case study consideration, as well as key input by the presenters themselves, all of whom are not only expert practitioners but also good at getting material across in a "user-friendly" manner.
Details for each event are shown below. Click on the event title for more detailed information, including a leaflet/booking form.
Where dates are showing as TBC (to be confirmed) this means that the event has already run in the current year's programme and further dates will be announced in due course. If you would like to be advised of future dates once they are available please let us know.

Featured workshop
Preparing Committee Reports and Appeal Statements
This popular workshop is of particular value to relatively new or less experienced development control officers. It takes a very practical look at the preparation of committee reports and simple appeal statements, offering guidance on how to strike the right balance between covering all the issues and the need to be succinct, giving advice on what to put in and what to leave out, and providing essential background on what Councillors and Inspectors are actually looking for in reports and statements.
